Bluesfest - Bob Dylan

Total. Utter. Shit.

Went in with no expectations and still came out disapointed!

Ended up walking out, like a lot of people.

Bluesfest - Day 4 Round Up

Pretty great day at the festival yesterday.
Caught a bit of the Rockwiz show, didn't hang around though because it was pretty much the same as last year, although Julia showing off clevage was fantastic.

First up was Kate Miller-Heidke. It was a mix between their acoustic shows and the full shows, nice combination in my opinion. Opening with the Fatty Gets A Stylist song "Tiger Inside Will Eat The Child" was a highlight for me. The new song about Australian bogans was perfect too.

Caught a bit of Robert Randolf too. Really good live act! Loved the Zeppelin cover too.

Highlight was Washington. I've seen them about 10 times over the past few years, but never on a big stage. It was a nice change and it was amazing to see the change in the bands confidence and performance since I last saw them at the Zoo.

Cat Empire went off! Insane show, great party band. Was a real shame a group of young teens had to try and ruin the fun, its the one thing I hate about the weekend shows at Bluesfest.

Don't have a ticket for Day 5 so I'll just be chilling until Day 6.

Bluesfest - Megan Washington

As amazing as always. Met her (again) after the show too.

Bluesfest - Kate Miller-Heidke

Fantastic as always. Loved the new "southern cross tattoo" song and the fatty gets a stylist cover.

Bluesfest - Day 4

Today is the day I've been looking forward to the most. Haven't seen Washington/Kate Miller-Heidke at the same show since the sunshine coast gig a few years ago.

Managed to see a fair few bands so far
  • Ben Harper
  • Fistful of Mercy
  • Eric Bibb
  • Imogen Heap
  • Jack Thompson and the Original Sinners
Caught bits of various bands too
  • MichaelFranti
  • Los Lobos
  • BB King
  • Trombone Shorty
The busking tent has had some pretty decent talent too.

I've taped Ben Harper, Fistful of Mercy and Eric Bibb. Really regret not taping Imogen Heap, but had a blast regardless.

Bluesfest - Imogen Heap

One of the best performances I've ever seen. Massive tapers regret for not taping it, but I got to enjoy myself. Hide and Seek was incredible! Loved every minute of that show.

Twitter King

An excerpt from a Twitter conversation with Megan Washington back in 2009.

Megan played 'Belly Of The Way' for me.
Kate played 'I Got The Way' for me.
